Protect Yourself From Self Destruction by Detoxifying

By Randi Fredricks return to articles

Detoxifying is an absolutely essential step in achieving optimal health. We live in the most chemically ridden generation and environment in the history of our world. According to Jon Barron, author of the book "Lessons from the Miracle Doctors," an estimated 700,000 people die annually at the hands of Doctors and prescription drugs, making modern medicine the number one cause of death in the USA. A large part of the reason prescription drugs have side effects is because they’re toxins.

Your body’s natural means of elimination is through the bowels, urination, exhalation and skin. If you do not eliminate every 24 hours, all the toxins made in the body or entered into your body build up in the connective tissue. This build up of toxins becomes the soil for viral, bacterial and fungal pathogens. All symptoms of disease are an expression on the part of the body to heal an injury or detoxify itself of a poison. Western medicine has taught us that these symptoms are the disease and should be suppressed with toxic drugs. In facts, drugs interrupt the healing and detoxification process of the body and bury the toxins deeper into the tissues. Insuring that someday even more life threatening illnesses like cancer will occur.

The only answer to avoiding all degenerative diseases is to detoxify on a regular basis. This keeps your tissues clean and healthy, if you want to be healthy in your 90’s like Jack Lalanne and Paul Bragg. Paul Bragg fasted regularly and had so much energy and vitality that he was surfing in his 90’s.

All holistic doctors and researchers agree that toxicity is the primary cause of every disease label we have today. Books such as "Homotoxicology" by Hans Reckenweg, "Doctor Patient Handbook" by Bernard Jensen, "Tissue Cleansing Through Bowel Management" by Bernard Jensen, "Cleanse and Purify Thyself" by Rich Anderson, all assert that the foundation of disease is the build up of toxins in both the tissues and the digestive tract. It is amazing how all the aches and pains in ones body go away and the renewed sense of well-being that returns when you have completely cleaned your body of toxins. Some of the benefits of internal cleansing are disease prevention, healing of disease, weight loss, cleaner, younger skin, clarity of mind, increased energy, happier moods, improved flexibility and slowed aging.

The growing demand for organic, whole foods and purified water is proof that many are concerned. While record numbers of us make efforts to improve our diets and reduce exposure to environmental toxins, we must consider an additional measure we can take to survive and thrive these negative modern conditions. One such measure is a commitment to internal cleansing.

First, understand that internal cleansing is an ongoing process in your body. The body encounters toxins from both internal and external sources every minute of every day. Fortunately, components like the liver, kidneys, lungs, intestines, and blood work continuously to clean out every cell, organ and tissue. This internal process keeps us from literally poisoning ourselves. Still, the evidence is overwhelming that the burden of our modern society can and does overwhelm this innate cleansing process.

There are many ways to detoxify, such as chelation therapy, herbs, water or juice fasting or other supplements. Fasting is perhaps one of the easiest ways. Before undergoing any detoxification regimen, make sure to get clearance from a supportive primary care physician to be sure you're strong enough to withstand a thorough cleansing.
